There’s a wide variety of solutions out there for consumers in terms of baby skin care. Any product suggests that it’s actually the most profitable for your baby. Various ones of them are natural baby skin care items found inside the UK. Others are synthesized using a variety of chemicals. For what reason should you select certified organic skin care products over traditional products? Why don’t we examine this in more detail.
Many include odd-sounding ingredients that no normal person understands the function of. While many of these are harmless, some could be hazardous to long-term health. To illustrate my point, sodium laureth sulfate is a ordinary chemical inside baby products. While SLS is safe in itself, it’s created using a process that also creates another chemical, dioxane. Studies by trustworthy sources has shown dioxane to cause cancer in animals. It’s probably a reasonable assumption (though unproven) that dioxane also increases the risk of cancer in people. Other side effects include itchy eyes, itchy scalp, and allergic reactions. But why are they out on the market then—and what’s more used on your wee ones? Sodium laureth sulfate serves the purpose of weakening the harshness of other ingredients in the products. Since only a “small amount” of dioxane is found in the products, the claim is that it’s not enough to cause harm. But others have disagreed, and who wants to take that kind of chance with their child? Here is a strong line of reasoning in favor of just using organic skin care products.
Mineral oils and other ingredients that use petroleum are also potentially unsafe. These may also cause skin to lose moisture and become flaky. Such ingredients may also lead to UV-damage. paradox is that this is a “skin care” product. Yet they could be the very cause of the problem. Hence, an organic solution is surely the safest route to travel. So where do we go from here?
First, avoid products with any of these ingredients: acetone, DEA, formaldehyde, MEA, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphates, synthetic fragrances, TEA, toluene, or triclosan. Second, when in doubt, look the ingredient up online using a good search engine. Finally, look for products that are biodegradable and hypoallergenic. The best place to find natural baby skin care products inside the UK are specialty stores or on the Internet.
